Decorating for the Holidays in your Motorhome

Decorating for the Holidays in your Motorhome

The holiday season is a time of cheerful gatherings and colorful decorations. Whether you are visiting friends in your RV, or have adopted a life on the road, there are many ways you can decorate for the holidays without cluttering your motorhome or breaking the bank. Nohr’s RV Center is family owned and operated, so we understand the importance of holiday memories and mementos.

Christmas Tree And Christmas Gifts

Ribbons, Bows, and Blankets

Simple crafts are the easiest way to decorate. Streamers made of ribbon and strategically placed holiday bows lend a festive air to your RV. Swap out your comforters and cushions for items created to match the holiday, displaying winter scenes or words of holiday cheer. The possibilities are nearly endless.

Rope Lights

Low power LED lights are an inexpensive way to decorate. Rope lights are great for hanging around the edges of your living space. You can also pick up festive lights in the shape of a star or other holiday patterns. Some varieties are available with adjustable blinking patterns and colors. LED lights are ideal for an RV because they have low power demands and don’t emit enough heat to be dangerous.

Tinsel, Garland, and Holly

Strands of garland, crepe paper, or popcorn strings are all great ideas for decorating your new motorhome. Making popcorn strings can be a fun family experience, and you can create colorful strings by dipping the popped kernels in a food coloring solution and allowing them to dry. Holly and mistletoe are always popular during the holidays, and you have the option of buying the boughs or harvesting them yourself.

Christmas Tree Ideas

You do not have to put up a giant Christmas tree. A small one will do just fine, and there are alternatives like buying a potted fir tree and having a living reminder after the season is over. You can also visit a ceramics shop and make your own small tree, or pick one up at many craft stores. If space is really limited, consider hanging ornaments in the shape of a tree or using rope lights to make one out of lights.

Outdoor Displays

Don’t forget to decorate outside. Ribbon lights are a great way to start but don’t forget to hang ornaments, mistletoe, and holly for a personalized flair. Inflatable decorations are perfect for the RV lifestyle because they pack away into a small space after the season is over. A benefit of decorating outside is that you would have plenty of room for gatherings, or sitting around a cozy fire.

Whether you are decorating palm trees in the south, or getting cozy in the mountains, decorating your motorhome will bring out the Christmas spirit. Be sure to have your battery checked and your RV serviced before hitting the road. Wherever your road may take you this year, we would like to wish you a safe and happy holiday season from Nohr’s RV Center.
